Honda Atlas Cars Pakistan Limited (HACPL) has reportedly notified of a massive increase in its car prices. According to the details, the Price of Honda City, Honda Civic, and Honda BR-V in Pakistan with effect from 30 July 2022 due to the devaluation of the Pakistani Rupee against the US Dollar (USD to PKR).
It is pertinent to mention that local automotive sector has been struggling due to the constant depreciation of the local currency against the greenback as well as constraints on obtaining Letter of Credits (LCs) from the State Bank of Pakistan for the import of Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits.
Furthermore, the new Honda car prices are effective from 30 July 2022 on all new orders, while all orders due till August 2022 with full payment made by 29th July 2022 will not be affected by the hike in prices.

It is pertinent to mention that Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) has also announced increased indicative prices of their vehicles as the company struggles from the economic crisis as well as constraints on import of CKD kits. The company has also announced a full refund with mark-up payment for customers on order cancellation.
